We drove to the southern edges of Puget Sound for a day of kayaking, and started with a healthy brunch on a waterfront pier overlooking the marina of Boston Harbor. The brunch is a local tradition on nice summer days for neighbors to get together. We then headed around the lighthouse and south into Budd Inlet toward Olympia, paddling by homes, forest, fishing boats, sailboats, seals popping their heads up to check on us, parks, and pretty scenery.

Gull Harbor By Budd Inlet Near Olympia Washington, kayaking

Gunkholing and exploring the fingers of Gull Harbor, where we could see schools of many thousands of silvery fish swarming under and around our kayaks. Eight blue heron were on the shores, watching silently and stick-like for that moving supermarket to come their way.
