The Ebey’s Landing Bluff Trail is one of the most beautiful short hikes in the broader Seattle region, located in Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve in Coupeville on Whidbey Island. The trail forms a loop on a glacial till bluff above the Puget Sound beach below that forms the return leg, skirting wind-gnarled forests that are part of protected land. At its furthest point from the trailhead, the trail switchbacks down the bluff around Perego’s Lagoon and out onto the driftwood strewn beach. On clear days, the views span across Puget Sound’s shipping channels to the Olympic Peninsula and out to Vancouver Island in Canada. This is a gem!
