South Yuba River State Park of Penn Valley California has a fascinating complex of water-sculpted swimming holes, mini rapids, underwater tunnels, and walls from which to leap into the swirling water below. Pockets of sand & gravel beaches line the river between boulders. On a nice day, the shores and river has many swimmers and relaxers enjoying prime, easily accessed locations. By climbing further along the shores or taking a short hike away from the car access points, the privacy and personal space increases significantly.
