The Soos Creek Trail runs 6 miles (one way) of paved path through the gentle wetland valley formed around salmon-spawning Soos Creek. Except for a few road crossings, there are no cars and it only occasionally wanders behind homes and neighborhoods. It’s a rural escape just southeast of Seattle, in a corridor between Renton and Kent.

Views and ecosystems vary from upland forests to lowland cattail marshes and protected wetlands, with many birds audible and visible. The area was previously logged and farmed by settlers over a hundred years ago, and remnants of that era still exist in the way the area looks today.

There are several access points along the trail, and it is well suited for walking, running, bicycling, and even horseback riding on a separate parallel dirt path.
