We had another fun Seattle/Portland get-together at the MTTA Copper Creek Hut. The snow conditions were much better than last year for skiing, and the weather opened up so much that we could clearly see the Olympic Mountains 100 miles away. The food was delicious, and we had lots of drinks (wine, port, Jagermeister, Pucker, and an occasional sip of water), junk food (chocolates, candies, cookies, whatever), and yummy food (veggie concoctions, chicken and polenta, oatmeal with gummi bear/M&M/fruit mix-ins, hearty fruit pancakes). Everybody did their own thing with hanging out, playing games, talking, reminiscing, ignoring the rest of the world, or figuring out solutions for all the world’s issues. Karen brought two really good sleds this time, and we had a hootin’ and hollerin’ good time sledding down the hill from the cabin, including fast icy runs at night with no lights on. All fun stuff, and a great tradition.
