We enjoyed some fresh snow with an afternoon snowmobile ride from Easton Snowmobile Rentals, leaving the small town of Easton by going into the forest service roads and trails of Wenatchee National Forest along Kachess Lake. We headed up Silver Trail Lane and got accustomed to our snowmobiles by opening up the throttles some on the flat open expanses of Easton State Airstrip/airport.
We then headed into some twisty single track forest trails and on out to fun power line tracts, which were open enough to be fast but still had some dips and bumps to keep things interesting. National forest service road NFD 4818 (which extended from Kachess Dam Road) guided us along the scenic eastern shore of Kachess Lake, below Kachess Ridge. The trail conditions were very wavy up and down, making for some good arm and leg workouts to keep everything under control. The road eventually became very tight on steep terrain, but we made it to the far small turn-around end of the road before heading back for some more fun on side trails through the forest by Silver Creek.
After returning our sleds, the XXX Root Beer Drive-in in Snoqualmie treated us to some huge mugs of cold refreshments and good diner food in addition to all of the car memorabilia and a couple car shows in the parking lot. Good after-snowmobile stomach fuel!
