The Ice Racing Championship Series came to Xfinity Arena in Everett, complete with round and rounds of motorcycles, ATVs, and trikes driven by riders of all ages and capabilities. Fast performers would be followed by classes with little kids. And those little kid rounds were fun with their caution and slowness in comparison. There was even a round where 4 women were picked from the audience to race for a prize. To add some levity, a bunch of guys came out to race on very small, old, and underpowered 3 wheel ATV trikes. One racer even pushed himself along with his feet, since the trike was huffing and puffing so bad.

The races in this series are very short, only lasting a few laps each. There may likely be some sort of heat system across the races, though the organization did not make it very apparent if there was such tracking of results. It’s mostly a series of quick races followed by the winner taking a victory lap with the checkered flag.

It’s an interesting indoor motor sports diversion, at least to check out once. Watching the faster guys lean sideways on the ice with their metal studded tires is a good sight to watch, and the lighter elements make it fun for everyone.
