Every year the faux Bavarian town of Leavenworth in the Cascade Mountains comes to life around Christmas. The downtown Front Street Park transforms into a hub of evening activity with a hundred kids sledding in front of the “No Sledding” signs and couples walking to a toasty warm dinner at one of the many restaurants. All of the large trees around the park get lit up with multi-colored Christmas holiday light shows.

Leavenworth rolls out the red carpet to guests with its annual Christmas Lighting Festival on weekends. Festivities include in-person visits from Santa Claus / Saint Nickolas, chestnut roasting, sleigh rides, and live music throughout the day that can include a chorus, harp players, handbell ringers, and roving carolers.
