Fire spinners and dancers lit up the cold winter night at Golden Gardens’ beach during the 9th Annual Bonfire and Christmas Tree Immolation Party. The evening began with hot chocolate, cookies, smores, and a mounting pile of donated Christmas trees coming in. Then one by one the trees were set on the bonfire, always producing an impressively fast and high display of flame from the crackling dry trees. Fire art was created by filling shallow trenches in the sand with sawdust & accelerant, and watching the beach glow in a well defined pattern. Kongming lanterns (sky lanterns) gently lifted off the beach and ascended skyward until out of sight. Fire spinners and drummers then took the sandy stage with burning poi, hula hoops, whips, fire breathing, and more.

Wondering if there will be an event for this year
I just checked and there is nothing listed on Facebook yet, which is where the event was announced last year. I recommend checking there and perhaps doing a Bing/Google search after January 1 to see if a last minute announcement is made.
