In response to the Al Gore movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, Treehugger.com created a video competition that challenged participants to show how they were personally reducing greenhouse gas emissions and also how they could inspire others to do so. Videos had to be between 1-2 minutes long, and an international collection of them was posted on the website for public viewing and voting. We were selected into the Top 20 by the public voting, and those 20 then went to a select panel of eco-judges. We won 4th place out of 130 entrants, and got some eco-schwag for our efforts (including a bamboo skateboard!?).
Our video discusses compact fluorescent light bulbs, how to make changes at home, and gets specific on both the personal monetary advantages as well as the larger environmental advantages.
