Whidbey Island Vineyard and Winery is an unexpected find in Langley, located south of downtown on Langley Road. The owners have been growing grapes there since 1989, and supplement them with other varieties from Washington’s Yakima Valley region. The winery includes a pleasant shop, view of the small wine production area, inexpensive tasting that allows for generous samples of 8 reds and whites, vineyards, and even a Whidbey Island wine barrel soap box car.
The vineyard is very community based, and neighbors join in on the harvesting of grapes at just the right time.
Our personal favorite was the Rosato, a red wine.
