Lummi Island is a quiet, quaint little island on the east side of the San Juan Islands, northwest of Bellingham. Accessed by a frequently running small car ferry, it can be a relaxing winter hideaway or a summer low key vacation. For amenities, there are a few restaurants, one small grocery store, and some artist studios. The island has lightly traveled rural roads which take you to community beaches and short trails owned by the Lummi Island Heritage Trust. Beyond that, it’s all about hanging out.
